## desktop-habitats (MIT)

The scene under `Web/` (Riverscape: fish, plants, water, feeding, rendering) and the macOS host
design are derived from [chaseleantj/desktop-habitats](https://github.com/chaseleantj/desktop-habitats),
vendored at the commit recorded in `Web/UPSTREAM`. Upstream's license, reproduced verbatim:

## Textures (CC0, Poly Haven)

The rock, wood and sand textures in `Web/scenes/riverscape/assets/` come from
[Poly Haven](https://polyhaven.com) under [CC0](https://polyhaven.com/license):
[Rock Boulder Dry](https://polyhaven.com/a/rock_boulder_dry),
[Rough Wood](https://polyhaven.com/a/rough_wood) and [Sand 01](https://polyhaven.com/a/sand_01);
the High quality level adds the ambient-occlusion/roughness and height maps of Rough Wood and
Sand 01, and [Rock Boulder Cracked](https://polyhaven.com/a/rock_boulder_cracked) (its colour map
desaturated and matched to the other stone's mean colour, as `rock_cracked_grey_*`).
CC0 requires no attribution; the credit is given anyway.

## Ambient sound loop (this project)

`Shoal/Resources/Audio/ambient-water.m4a` is not a third-party work; it is part of this project.
The file is generated by `Scripts/generate-ambient-loop.py`, a deterministic synthesizer (seed
583137) written against the Python standard library only: a low-passed brown-noise water bed with
a slow swell and sparse bubble ticks, crossfaded into a seamless 23 s loop and encoded to AAC with
macOS `afconvert`. It contains no recordings and no third-party samples.
`Scripts/generate-ambient-loop.py --check` re-renders the audio and verifies the committed file
against it.
